Weddings - The Best Gigs?

This weekend, one of my gigs was a wedding which went really well, and in general, weddings tend to be one of the more enjoyable gigs.

Weddings are very happy occasions, everyone is there to celebrate and keen to be entertained - which is perfect for me. But the main reason why weddings tend to be good gigs is because of the wide range of ages in the audience.

Icarus Effect Self Levitation

I’ve just seen a new self-levitation effect called the ‘Icarus Effect’. You can see a video of it in action [here->http://www.icaruseffect.com/home.html]. It looks similar to the Balducci levitation made popular by David Blaine.

It looks great, an amazing effect, but I really can’t see what type of performer it is aimed at (apart from one with a lot of spare cash lying around).

My Brother’s Wedding

This weekend I was a proper guest at a wedding, which makes a change!

I couldn’t relax completely though, as it was my brothers wedding and I was the best man. It was a fairly relaxed affair, not too traditional, so my duties were quite straight forward (thanks bruv!), however I still had the best man’s speech to cope with. (more…)
