My Brother’s Wedding
This weekend I was a proper guest at a wedding, which makes a change!
I couldn’t relax completely though, as it was my brothers wedding and I was the best man. It was a fairly relaxed affair, not too traditional, so my duties were quite straight forward (thanks bruv!), however I still had the best man’s speech to cope with.
Now, you might think this would be easy since I’m used to performing and standing up in front of people. But in fact, I was extremely nervous, much more so than during a normal performance. I suppose that’s because it was very personal to me and an audience of people I know.
Strangely, I also found it hard to memorise my speech. I think this may have been because I am used to associating lines with actions and props, making them easier to remember.
Anyway, it all went well in the end and the magic trick worked. (Can you believe it? I even did a card trick during my brother’s wedding!!)
In my defence, the trick did relate to the relationship between the happy couple and did bring my speech to a great climax, even if I do say so myself.
The whole weekend went really well and Steve and Debbie will have a long and happy future together.

It was I, the lucky guy who married Debbie and Dan was my best man, he did a great job and the card trick was the icing the cake!!
Get married, its the best. Deb and I have lived together for a while now and throught getting married wouldn’t change anything, but it does, we are closer and everything just feels so right!
If you ever need the services of a magician then Dan’s your man, I have seen him do his thing at family get togethers a few times, but when I saw him with Headfry in Leicester I was blown away by the tricks and effects he performed!
