A Wedding Without a Groom
I was the magician at a wedding reception this weekend in Derby where there was no groom!
He had been out the night before for a meal with his family (not a drink sodden stag do!) and ate something that disagreed with him. He spent most of his wedding day being sick and was unable to attend the reception.
The couple did actually manage to get married, although the ceremony took place with a bucket next to the groom and the registrar was very quick!
As you might imagine, the bride was very upset and it was a difficult situation to work in. But, the guests and families coped really well and everyone (apart from the groom) ended up having a good time.
I suppose the moral of the story is stay in and eat bread and water the night before your wedding day.

I friend of mine went to a wedding where the groom was ejected and consequently barred from the venue at his wedding reception. Too many whiskey’s to settle his nerves apparently, and by 7.30pm he was painting the porcelain in the gents

Hi Matt.
I bet that went down well with the in-laws.
