I’ve just upgraded to the all new Wordpress 2.5 and my old custom template completely failed, so back to the default look.

I’ll be getting into a re-design sometime soon. Hopefully.

Thanks to the members of Sheffield Circle of Magicians for the great reception to my lecture last Thursday night.

Next week, on the 20th of March, I am presenting my lecture ‘High Impact Magic’ at the Sheffield Magic Circle.

I haven’t done a lecture for a while so I’m looking forward to it.

I’ve written before about some of the strange enquiries I get.

This time a chap rang and asked if I knew where he could get some doves. That was literally the first thing he said, ‘Hi, do you know where I can get some doves?’

I guess the question is a reasonable one to ask a magician but, it was just the way he asked with no preamble or explanation, like I must know. It made me wonder if I have mistakenly mentioned on my website that I sell doves.

Well, just for the record I’ve checked. I don’t and I’ve never used them.

In the end I told him some magic shops that might be able to help.

Sigh.

Well, it’s not like I’ve just been twiddling my thumbs. The beginning of the year is usually a bit quiet with magic so I try to complete some other projects. However this year I’ve had a lot more magic work as well as the other projects.

I’m changing my main site dangifford.com to make it easier to update. The design will remain the same but there is going to be quite a lot more content such as a photos, videos and testimonials.

I’m also designing a website for a friend who sells internet cafe equipment.

I’m also trying to put together a web-directory for magicians - but don’t hold your breath.
